The Shamrocks was born out of the necessity to make connections to all the schools that existed in Port Elizabeth. There was a great need to ensure that the heritage and history of the schools was never lost.

1. provide an association through which pupils from all the schools can connect and come together with a shared identity and

2. provide financial support to the school that absorbed the other schools being (St Dominic's Priory School).
